Man Dies At “Conjuring 2” Screening And Body Goes Missing

“The Conjuring 2” opened to rave reviews with one critic calling it “one of the premier horror sequels of all time.” But can it scare someone to death? It unfortunately happened to one man in India.

According to RT News, 65-year-old G. Ram Mohan and his friend H. Prasad went to a screening of the film at the Sri Balasubramaniar Cinema in the town of Tiruvannamalai. During the movie’s climax, Mohan started complaining of chest pains before being taken to Old Government Hospital. According to The Times of India, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

RT reports that Prasad was asked by medical staff to take Mohan’s body to the Government Medical College Hospital on the outskirts of town for post-mortem.

The Plot Twist

Prasad and Mohan’s body never made it.

Police have launched an investigation into the disappearance, according to Times of India. RT reports that officers are interviewing local taxi drivers to see if anyone saw the pair, which is believed to have been in town on a business trip.

Police say both men were natives of Andhra Pradesh.

Supernatural Hype

News about the body’s disappearance has gone viral, but it’s not the only piece of social media hype that’s surrounding the supposed “paranormal activity” behind the film.

A video reportedly showing a woman getting “possessed while watching The Conjuring 2” has been viewed more than 5 million times since being posted to Facebook about two weeks ago.

However, some suspect the video was actually shot in 2013 before the film’s release.

A photo depicting the outline of a cross turning up on the mirror of a Singaporean man’s hotel room shortly after he watched the film has been shared more than 2,700 times.

“The Conjuring 2” is based on the supposedly-true story of the Enfield Poltergeist, which was investigated by Ed & Lorraine Warren in England during the late 1970s.
