1. University of California – Los Angeles

With 44,854 students interested in this school, The University of California, Los Angeles ranks as the most desirable school among 2018 High School Seniors. The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is a public research university in the Westwood district of Los Angeles. It became the Southern Branch of the University of California in 1919. This makes it the second-oldest undergraduate campus of the ten-campus University of California system. It offers 337 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in a wide range of disciplines. UCLA enrolls about 31,000 undergraduate and 13,000 graduate students and had 119,000 applicants for Fall 2016.

2.  University of California – Berkeley

With 33,110 students interested in this school, The University of California, Berkeley falls second on our list of most desirable schools among high school seniors.The University of California, Berkeley is a public research university located in Berkeley, California. Founded in 1868, Berkeley is the flagship institution of the ten research universities affiliated with the University of California system and is ranked as one of the world’s most prestigious universities and the top public university in the United States.

3. University of Southern California

We have 31,541 students southern California dreaming, ranking the University of Southern California as third on our list. The University of Southern California is a private research university located in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 1880, it is the oldest private research university in California. USC has historically educated a large number of the region’s business leaders and professionals. Our fourth most desirable and fourth college from California on our list, the University of California, San Diego has about 30,863 students pining after it’s campus. The University of California, San Diego is a public research university located in the La Jolla neighborhood of San Diego. The university occupies 2,141 acres near the coast of the Pacific Ocean with the main campus resting on approximately 1,152 acres. Established in 1960 near the pre-existing Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego is the seventh oldest of the 10 University of California campuses. It offers over 200 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, enrolling about 28,000 undergraduate and 7,000 graduate students.

5. University of Texas – Austin

Last but certainly not least, The University of Texas in Austin boasts a crowd of 29,577 students begging to be accepted. The University of Texas is a public research university and the flagship institution of the University of Texas System. Founded in 1881, its campus is located in Austin, Texas, approximately 1 mile from the Texas State Capitol. UT Austin was inducted into the Association of American Universities in 1929. This made it the third university in the American South to be elected. The institution has the nation’s eighth-largest single-campus enrollment. It has over 50,000 undergraduate and graduate students and over 24,000 faculty and staff.
